About Dr. Fan

Yijun Fan, MD

Dr. Yijun Fan is a three-time board certified physician in both Rheumatology (2000, 2010, 2020) and Internal Medicine (1998, 2010, 2020) who has been caring for patients in Dallas for over 20 years. He is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the Texas and American Medical Associations. He earned his medical degree at Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing, China and completed his surgical residency, specializing in orthopedic surgery, at The First School of Clinical Medicine in Beijing. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Nashville General Hospital and fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Fan’s patients appreciate his unique blend of personal kindness and medical expertise. Utilizing his orthopedic background and his internist training, Dr. Fan provides broader evaluation and recommendations for his patients. He emphasizes an optimistic, individualized, patient-centered care approach, and focuses on patient education during visits. When applicable, he helps patients understand the fundamentals of their diseases so that patients may assume a more active role in their treatment.

Dr. Fan has a special interest in immunology as the basis for inflammatory rheumatic disease and puts this knowledge into his practice.
